MY TOWN. Virgen de Guadalupe School

The aim of this part of the project is to learn  new vocabulary about the places you can find in a city.  The students created presentations to put it into practice and help them consolidate thier knowledge.   My TOWN. Carlos Pedrera Cáceres, My Town. Mireia Armero My Town. Iván Jorge

We worked with maps to give directions and learnt these expressions: Go down , go up, on the corner, turn right, turn left, go straight ahead, opposite, near, in front of... Now we want to record a video giving directions to a tourist because Cáceres, our town, is a very touristic place. We are learning dialogues to show that we are good citizens giving directions to foreign people. At the same time we are participating in the School Project " Ten months, ten goals" about being good citizens. This is the dialogue between Mireia and a tourist outside the school: Tourist: Excuse me! Is there a hospital near here? Mireia: Yes, there is. Tourist : How can I get there? Mireia: Cross the road, go straight ahead on the right. Go past Brocense school. Go down that street and turn right. Walk until the roundabout. Go down the street and the hospital is on your right,opposite Ribera del Marco school. Tourist: Thank you very much. Mireia: You’re welcom

After watching a video about the city of New York this is  what we see : Statue of Liberty , discos , museums , fun fair park , school , zoo , fountain , ferry , many cars and taxis , restaurants , photographer , fish , people from different countries , stadium , fireworks , train , skyscrapers. what we think : it is a luxurious city, it is a very big city, it is a nice place to live. what we wonder:   about unemployment, about racism. We want to compare our city, Cáceres, with New York: Caceres is a city  as touristic as  Ney York The stadiums in New York are bigger than the stadiums in Cáceres. New York is more expensive than Cáceres. Some restaurants in Cáceres are better than some restaurants in New York. The museums in New York are more important than the museums in Cáceres New York is bigger than Cáceres. There are more shops in New York than in Cáceres. There are more people in New York than in Cáceres. Cáceres is more peaceful nthan New York. Th
